Reintroducing Myself: Finding My Way Back to Pilates and Wellness (as a Mom of Two)
Oct 20, 2025
Hi friends 💕
It’s been a while, so I wanted to reintroduce myself—because life looks a little different these days.
I’m Erin, founder of The Pilates Mom Studio, and now a proud mom of two. Our newest little love, Ellie, is here and she’s six weeks old. It still feels surreal to say that! Becoming a mom again has been such a beautiful, emotional, and humbling experience. It’s softer this time—more intentional—but it’s also more real. There’s no “perfect” balance between a newborn and a three-year-old… but we’re finding our rhythm one day at a time.
💗 The Postpartum Shift
This postpartum season has felt completely different from my first. It’s been gentler, but also full of new challenges—navigating sleepless nights, nursing sessions, toddler tantrums, and moments of pure joy all in one day.
But somewhere in the middle of it all, I started feeling this little spark again—the pull to move my body, breathe deeper, and reconnect with myself.
That spark is what led me back to Pilates.
🧘♀️ Starting My Core Rehab Journey
I just started my core rehab and gentle strength training journey, and it feels amazing to be back. Not just physically—but mentally and emotionally too.
Those first few sessions back reminded me why I fell in love with Pilates in the first place. The deep connection, the focus on breath, the way it brings me back into my body after feeling so disconnected for months.
Every movement feels like a small victory. Every session leaves me feeling stronger, calmer, and more like myself.
💪 Rebuilding Strength (Without Pressure)
This time, I’m approaching postpartum movement differently. I’m taking it slow—focusing on rebuilding strength from the inside out rather than rushing toward any “goal.”
Yes, I gained weight during pregnancy (a lot, actually). But I’m not chasing the number on the scale. I’m chasing how it feels to be strong again—to move with confidence and energy.
I’m honoring my body for what it’s done and what it continues to do.
🌸 Feeling Like Myself Again
There’s something so healing about showing up for yourself again after a big life change. Even 10 minutes of movement shifts everything—my energy, my mood, my patience, my confidence.
I truly missed this version of me—the one who moves, breathes, and finds joy in taking care of her body.
And now, as a mom of two, this version feels even more grounded. She’s tired, yes—but she’s grateful. And she’s ready to keep showing up.
✨ Final Thoughts
If you’re in a similar season—trying to find your footing again after baby, after burnout, or just after a busy chapter—this is your reminder:
You don’t have to be “back.” You just have to begin.
Movement doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be possible.
And I promise, the version of you that’s waiting on the other side of consistency is worth it.
Here’s to rebuilding, reconnecting, and rediscovering ourselves—one Pilates session at a time. 💕
